Another leap forward.

That’s it! Another fantastic Evolution and this one even bigger than last year. In the beautiful surroundings of East Wintergarden, we had fireside chats, expert panels, collaborative activities and the reveal of our super-secret keynote speaker – and what a day it was!

THE BUSINESS STREAM

"Run your business as if you were planning to sell it in 3 years."

Whether you were just starting out, looking to grow or more interested in M&A, we had a session for you. All aspects of business were discussed, alongside the more cheeky ideas in thinking outside of the box and making your business stand out from the usual financial services stereotype.

In our business stream, we were joined by Andrew Storey (EV) for a fireside chat. Dan Marsh (Octopus Accelerator), Felicia Meyerowitz Singh (FNZ Group) and Tina Weeks (Serenity Financial Planning) joined Cathi Harrison for a panel discussion.

THE TALENT STREAM

“Create an environment where you get curious chemistry.”

How can you ensure that when you are recruiting you are hiring the right people? Do you have a company culture that is part of your recruitment process? How can your culture help retain your staff? Our expert speakers ran the gamut of questions and did not disappoint in their responses. Training and development is also an important aspect of recruitment and retention.

For our talent stream, we were joined by Laura Barnes (Parmenion) for a fireside chat. David Blackburn (FSCS), Kirsty Lynagh (Seccl) and Sam Moxham (The Progeny Group) joined Natalie Bell for a panel discussion.

THE TECH STREAM

“Don’t be afraid of automation; if done right it doesn’t have to ruin the human touch.”

Our techsperts looked at the history of fintech and discussed where it might (or should) go in the future. It’s not just advisers that have to embrace tech – both client-facing as well as process-based (i.e. back office admin), but providers really have to start to integrate their legacy processes into useful tech across the industry, otherwise they will be left behind in the forward march towards the future.

In our tech stream, Richard Wake (intelliflo) joined us for a fireside chat. Abraham Okusanya (Timeline & Betafolio), Andrew Smith (Nucleus) and André Costa (AdviceFront) joined Peter Calvert for a panel discussion.

The SECRET Keynote

Did you guess correctly?!

Initially appearing as a member of the AV team dressed in jeans, trainers and a black hoodie, mingling with delegates and even a small stint as security – #TheSecretKeynote didn’t disappoint!

Here at The Verve Group, we don’t do things by halves, so after swapping back to his trademark waistcoat, red boots and pocket watch, Richard McCann took to the stage to share his heartfelt and moving story that can’t help but to motivate and inspire those who are lucky enough to hear it. After he took to the stage to wow our delegates, he kindly signed copies of his new book ‘Just a Man’.
